The Folkwang University of the Arts is the leading—and only—institution in North Rhine-Westphalia dedicated to education in music, theater, dance, design, and the humanities.
Since 1927—in keeping with the Folkwang philosophy of interdisciplinary collaboration among the arts—a wide variety of artistic fields and disciplines have been united under one roof here. With campuses and venues in Essen, Bochum, Duisburg, and Dortmund, Folkwang is right at the heart of the Ruhr region and firmly rooted there.

Sustainability at the Folkwang University of the Arts
SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Produktion) are particularly important to us in making design processes sustainable. This is complemented by SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
